Mladomir Puriša Đorđević died today at the age of 98, Nova.rs reports.
The director, author of cinematography such as: "San", "Jutro", "Afternoon", "Coach", died after a short and serious illness.
Mladomir Puriša Đorđević was born on May 6, 1924. Before World War II, he was a member of SKOJ. At the beginning of the uprising in Serbia, he joined the partisans. He was captured and sent to the Institute for Forced Education of Youth in Smederevska Palanka. As a young man in 1946, he played for Borac from Čačany. He started working as a journalist in "Politica" in 1946.
From 1947 he worked at Filmski novosti as an editor, and later as a director of documentary films. He shot about 50 short and 20 feature films. He is the author of ten novels, and the last book "Ulysses" was published last year by "Gradac". As an actor, he played in the film "South Southeast" (2005).
He married Milena Dravić in 1960, with whom he later divorced. He has a daughter Lidia from his second marriage.
A few months ago, he started directing the screen version of Branimir Šćepanović's novel "Usta puna zemlje".
