Rakčević pointed out that in previous years, the fair did not have great and frequent support from city institutions and the capital Podgorica.

"I think it is our obligation that from next year, from the coming of age of the International Book Fair in Podgorica, the support of the capital will be significantly greater, more present," Rakčević added.

Borovinić Bojović expressed her satisfaction that she was honored to open the fair on May 8, the day of St. Mark, the patron saint of Podgorica.

"I believe that there is no better day for Podgorica to celebrate a book, on the day when the author and example of courage and heroism, the founder of the first reading room in this city, was born," said Borovinić Bojović.

She added that in this digital age, it is necessary to preserve books, spirituality, and the youngest generations:

"These days, our attention is increasingly focused on finding a way to protect our youngest from evil and direct them to the right values. It seems to me that coming with them to this fair where they can get acquainted with all the wealth of content in the field of both written and oral words - was a real step in the right direction".
