A two-day international scientific and professional meeting, entitled "Miloš Milošević and the cultural tradition of Boka" will be held today and tomorrow in Kotor, organized by the State Archives of Montenegro from Cetinje and the Municipality of Kotor.
The topics of the gathering, which will be attended by about 30 scientists, cultural workers, university professors and priests from Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia and the Czech Republic, will be archival science, librarianship, museology, maritime history, Bokej maritime and Bokej Navy institutions, study, documentation and protection of cultural heritage. , art and poetry.
Within the framework of the scientific and professional gathering, which is largely dedicated to the rich, diverse and layered work of Dr. Miloš Milošević in the study of various aspects of Bokelje's maritime, economic, ethnographic and musicological past, today at 19 p.m. in the Maritime Museum of Montenegro in Kotor, the collection of works by Dr. Miloš Milošević published in the annuals of the Maritime Museum from 1953 to 2006 will be promoted, under the title "Maritime history, Volume I".
The focus of the meeting through most of the presentations of the meeting participants will be the character and work of academician Dr. Milošević (1920-2012), a prominent Bokele scientific worker and writer, and former admiral of the ancient Bokele Navy. Dr. Milošević was a versatile scientific and artistic personality - historian, archivist and novelist, poet and musician. Descendant of the famous Milošević captain and seafaring family from Dobrot. He was the director of the historical archive in Kotor for many years, the president of the Association of Archive Workers of Montenegro, the president of the Union of Associations of Archive Workers of Yugoslavia, a member of the Archive Council of Yugoslavia, representative of Yugoslavia at international congresses of archivists in Brussels, Madrid, Moscow, Washington.
In 1991, he was elected a lifetime admiral of the Bokel Navy, an organization that inherits the traditions of the oldest naval fraternity in these areas, more than 12 centuries old.
