As part of the "Ćirilicom" festival, a reception was held last night in honor of the Polish Nobel laureate Olga Tokarčuk.
The hosts of the reception for the many guests were the director of TO Budva, Nemanja Kuljača, who is also the patron of the festival, as well as the president of the Council for Culture of the Municipality of Budva, doc. Dr. Predrag Zenović.
The guests of one of the biggest events in Budva were numerous cultural workers from Budva and Montenegro, which somehow confirmed that Budva is well on its way to becoming the European capital of culture.
The reception followed immediately after the awarding of the prestigious award for culture "Literary Flame", which was awarded to Tokarčuková last night.
During the festive dinner, a meaningful conversation was held between the Polish writer, double winner of the Nike Prize and the Booker Prize, and Professor Zenović, who is a lecturer at the Faculty of UDG Podgorica.
The main topic was Budva's candidacy and ways and possibilities for the Nobel laureate to get involved and help in the preparation process of Budva.
In the light of the European candidacy, Tokarčuk spoke several times during the evening about the beauty of the legend of Cadmus and Harmonia and about the construction and reconstruction of Harmonia, i.e. harmony. She also thanked for the warm welcome.
TO Budva, in addition to the formal reception and the regular festival program, today organized a new tour of Budva where a group of foreign translators of various books by Olga Tokarčuk spent the day together with her on the island of Sveti Nikola.
