A digitized cinema was opened tonight in the Cultural Center of Pljevlja.

The cinema was opened by the director of the Film Center of Montenegro (FCCG), Aleksandra Božović.

"The most beautiful cultural center also got the most beautiful cinema. It is the responsibility of all of us that this space, which from today can boast of the most modern equipment for showing domestic and foreign film productions, will be a place for the gathering of all generations of Pljevlja citizens, especially the youngest, who will grow up with the films and become great and good people." said Bozovic.

She reminded that the project of digitalization of cinema halls in Montenegro was started five years ago through the joint action of the Ministry of Culture, the Film Center and local governments, as one of the priorities of the National Program for the Development of Cinematography.

"Tonight's event is an opportunity to briefly recall the previous period, which was not at all easy, but which showed us how important joint work is, as well as the responsibility we have as public cultural institutions. In this way, we managed to maintain continuity in the implementation of the project digitalization of halls in Montenegrin culture centers and to start the screening activity from the north of the country to the coastal cities", ordered Božović.

She emphasized that the digitization process must be accompanied by training and hiring of professional staff.

"The Film Center, together with the Center for Vocational Education and prominent film workers from the country and the region, created and licensed nine programs for the development of a shortage of personnel in the field of cinematography. One of the first programs that the Film Center will implement in the first quarter of next year is and a program for cinematographers. Therefore, I invite all employees of culture centers, among others, employees of CZK Pljevlja, who have already procured state-of-the-art equipment for showing films, to join us," said the director of FCCG.

Božović said that FCCG, in order to further attract the audience and increase viewership of domestic and European film productions in cinemas, as one of the incentive measures, foresees support for exhibitors, whose regular repertoires include domestic and foreign film productions.
