Branislav Ban Sekulić's retrospective exhibition will be opened today at Dvorac Petrović in Podgorica, at 19 p.m.

The way in which he managed to visualize his impressions and thoughts ranged from a hyperrealistic manner, with an original analysis of consumer society in the initial phase of creativity, to colorfully warm elaborated interiors and exteriors where antique plastic appears during the 80s. Then, during the 90s, he made works in the spirit of magical realism, up to the abstract treatment of content from 2000 to 2010 and painting solutions close to surrealism and metaphysical painting - works from the cycle 'Mediterranean' from 2010 until today," she wrote. is she.

The exhibition chronologically follows certain motifs and thematic segments that characterized the work of Branislav Sekulić. Through the exhibition, his developmental path is followed, from the earliest works created at the Belgrade Academy of Fine Arts, until today, where the author's choice of motifs is very diverse, spontaneous and enriched with personal details.

Branislav Bane Sekulić was born in 1952 in Prokuplje. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1978, Department of Painting, in the professor's class Milan Kečić. At the same faculty, he obtained his master's degree in 1980, in the professor's class Aleksandar Luković. From 1981 to 1984, he worked as an editor of the art program at the Budo Tomović Youth Center in Titograd. In addition to running the gallery, he founded the School of Art Education, and along with creating art, he also engaged in pedagogical work.

In 1980, together with a group of his colleagues, he founded the informal art group "Generacija 9". In the period from 1995 to 2001, he was the vice-president of the Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro. He was the commissioner of the Montenegrin national team (Vojo Stanić) at the international exhibition of the Venice Biennale in 1997.

His works are in numerous museums and private collections. He participated in numerous independent and collective exhibitions in the country and abroad and is the winner of significant awards.
