"Kosmos" with its literary programs now also in Budva
The publishing house "Nova knjiga" opened its bookstore "Kosmos" in Budva last night, announcing a diverse artistic program.
"The fact that so many books are in one place is a cultural event in itself. I believe it will be much more than that. We will try to attract as many readers as possible to find their book, as many writers and young artists as possible who will meet each other and find some books as inspiration. We will also make an effort, as we do in Podgorica, to organize a large number of cultural events in Budva, guest appearances by foreign writers and local writers. We believe that this will become an important point when it comes to the culture of Budva. The bookshop connects three cities, tonight at this moment there are three programs, one is this one in Budva, the opening of the bookshop, the second is in Podgorica in our bookshop 'Kosmos', the promotion of a novel by a great young writer Vuk Vuković and the third program is the 'Days of Milorad Pavić' in "Cosmos" in New Belgrade", said the owner of "New Book" Predrag Uljarević.

The bookstore was officially opened by Predrag Zenović, president of the Council for Culture of the Municipality of Budva, the newly appointed chief negotiator of Montenegro with the European Union.
"Tonight we are witnessing the opening of a bookstore. For a city in which there were continuously fewer and fewer public spaces, less and less space for culture, space for books, space for enlightenment, this is a small but significant step. Especially since Predrag Uljarević, the winner of the Thirteenth of July Award for a major shift in culture in a time when neither culture nor books are the dominant driving force of the capitalist age in which we live, is taking this step. They showed that they can, with great strength and knowledge, enter into this great undertaking that means a lot for the culture of Montenegro, the production of books, translation, publishing, all that is behind the fact that today we have books on the shelves that we can take in our hands. , read and enter a new cosmos. In this sense, I believe that this bookshop Kosmos in Budva will also have the fate of the City bookshop in Podgorica or Plato in Belgrade, ... all those bookshops by which we remember cities, people and times. I believe that this bookstore will have a beautiful destiny, a place for people to meet, a place to read and enjoy a book," Zenović said.
As part of the ceremonial opening program, the writer Đorđe Gregović read fragments from the medieval Statute of Budva
