Filmmakers from Montenegro, led by the director of the Film Center Alexander Božović, participate in this year's "When East Meets West" forum, one of the most significant European events in the field of the film industry, which is held as part of the 35th edition of the Trieste Film Festival.
A panel discussion dedicated to Montenegrin cinematography "Spotlight on Montenegro" will be held today on the topic of the current situation in the film industry in Montenegro, with a special focus on regional co-productions, as well as on the incentive measures of the Film Center for foreign filming (cash rebate). On the panel, which will moderate Tamara Tatishvili from the organization FOCAL, director of the Film Center of Montenegro Aleksandra Božović, producer, will participate Velisa Popovic and director Ivan Salatić.
Aleksandra Božović is one of the members of the jury of the newly established "Film Center of Montenegro Award", in the "Last Stop Trieste" selection. The prize, in the amount of 2.000 euros, is intended for documentary films in development that are in the final stage of post-production, and six selected projects are in competition. In addition to Božović, the jury includes: Hanka Kastelikova (HBO Max), Tereza Simikova (producer) i Aleksandra Derevienko (CAT & Docs).
Numerous film professionals from Montenegro participate in workshops dedicated to various stages of production... In the "East & West" selection, which offers participants an overview of co-production and distribution opportunities offered by regional and national film funds in Europe and Latin America, female producers participate Maja Kecojević i Bojana Radulović, while the producer will Marko Jacimovic to be part of the "Cold Open" selection intended for producers who intend to improve their knowledge and skills needed for the production of television series, which will be led by experts from the MIDPOINT Institute.
Director Petar Glomazic tomorrow, in cooperation with CIRCLE Women Doc Accelerator, will hold a masterclass lecture "Lessons from Aviation".
The forum gathers more than 550 film professionals from 60 countries and ends tomorrow.
