In Kotor, in the presence of the President of the Municipality of Kotor Vladimir Jokić, the Vice President of the Government of Shanghai Liu Duo and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Montenegro Fan Kun, a Memorandum was signed between the two festivals - KotorArt and the Chinese International Art Festival in Shanghai, announced KotorArt.
"The Chinese International Art Festival in Shanghai is the only state festival in China which, like KotorArt, is being held this year for the 23rd time. The festival brings some of the most prestigious names from the art field, which takes place every year during October and November at different locations of this most populous of the city of China. Shanghai, with over 24 million inhabitants, represents a real cosmopolitan megapolis, a kind of cultural and economic center of China, and in the field of culture, a global center of artists, creative professionals and producers," the announcement reads.
Jokić, as stated, discussed the possibilities of cooperation with the director of the Department of Industrial Development of the City of Shanghai Shi Zhihang and the representative of the Office for Foreign Affairs Huang Zhihua.
"In addition to Jokić, the president of the Kotor Municipality Assembly, Maja Mršulja, as well as the secretary of the Secretariat for Culture, Sports and Social Activities, Tatjana Kriještorac, the director of the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Kotor, Jovan Ristić, and Marina Bjelja, the chief administrator of the Municipality of Kotor, were present at the conversation," they explained in the announcement. .
They add that Jokić informed the interlocutors about the history and cultural heritage of Kotor, "stating his interest in cooperation in various other fields besides culture and art."
"The signed memorandum envisages close cooperation between the two festivals through the exchange of professionals in the field of performing arts, the exchange of artistic programs and joint artistic productions," it said.
Martinović, as he points out, recalling the saying "put your finger in the sea and you are connected to the whole world", concluded that "Kotor is a window to the world of the whole of Montenegro." In this sense, cooperation with close artistic initiatives whether from the region, the European Union, China or the United States of America is more than significant, proving in this way that Kotor and Montenegro belong to the big world."
Martinović emphasized that he believes that, not only in the fields of culture and art, but also in the fields of tourism, economic development and higher education, "we can and must learn from each other."
"KotorArt is also a signatory of the Shanghai Consensus, thus becoming part of the Silk Road initiative, an international festival network initiated in China, which gathers some of the biggest festivals in the world, from Europe, the USA to Australia and Malaysia," they concluded.
