The Film Center of Montenegro, headed by director Aleksandra Božović, participated in the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
"At the most important film market in the world, Marche du Film, FCCG presented current Montenegrin cinematography within the Southeastern Europe Pavilion, together with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia," the announcement states.
Božović said that participation in the "most important market in the world" at the Cannes Festival is very important for Montenegrin cinematography.
"The presence of the Film Center of Montenegro as well as representatives of Montenegrin cinematography at the Marche du Film significantly contribute to the exchange of experiences and the establishment of new partnerships, networking with the most prominent European film funds and leading European organizations, which enables the creation of a safe environment for the development of talents in Montenegro and the continuous growth of Montenegrin cinematography and the recognition of its uniqueness on the regional and European film map", emphasized Božović.

Two Montenegrin films, "Planet 7693" and "Roda", were shown at the film market of the Cannes Festival this year.
The children's film "Planet 7693" directed by Gojko Berkuljan, based on the script by Ana Vujadinović Tomić, produced by Marko Jaćimović (Giggling Goat Production), is a co-production of Montenegro, Serbia and North Macedonia, with the participation of prominent Montenegrin and regional actors.
The feature film "Roda", directed by Isa Qosja, produced by the company ABHO Film from Podgorica, which is a co-production of Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Albania, was also shown at the market. The film was supported by the Film Center of Montenegro, as well as regional film centers, and it also received significant support from the Eurimaž fund.

The Film Center of Montenegro announced that they presented the potential and capacities of Montenegro as a film destination at the market, as well as the "Montenegrin Cinema 2024" catalog, which presents an overview of current film projects in various stages of realization.
"During the 77th Cannes Festival, the General Assembly of the Association of Directors of European Film Agencies (EFAD) was held, in which director Aleksandra Božović also participated. Representatives of national film and audiovisual centers from the countries of the European Union, Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered at this event. Iceland, Norway, the Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom," the statement added.

During the work, documents on artificial intelligence and the priorities of the association at the level of the European Union were adopted.
The Film Center of Montenegro, together with EWA - European Women's Audiovisual Network, organized a panel discussion "Strengthen her film", on the topic of gender equality in the film industry. In addition to Božović, the director of Moldova's CNC Valetina Iusuphodjaev, Slovenian film director Sonja Prosenc, and Romanian producer and vice-president of the European Women's Audiovisual Network Ada Solomon participated in the panel.
