The "Archive Week" event, realized by the State Archives of Montenegro, will be opened today in Podgorica and will last until May 31.
The first of a series of programs will be held at the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović" at 12:XNUMX, and the document exhibition in question is called "Woman... Bearer of Social Development in Socialism". The exhibition is realized by the Archives for the History of the Workers' Movement Podgorica, as an organizational part of the State Archives. At the opening, at noon, the Minister of Culture and Media will speak Tamara Vujović, director of the State Archives Danilo Mrvaljevic and head of the Archives Department for the History of the Workers' Movement in Podgorica Biljana Drasković.
"The 'Archive Week' event is a traditional project by which the State Archives strives to popularize the archival profession with the aim of protecting archival material as a treasure of inestimable historical, cultural, educational and general value. At the same time, we are spreading awareness of the importance of the activities that our institution performs", the announcement states.
The organizers add that the project refers to the entire territory of the country and includes the entire archival network in Montenegro, and is aimed, among other things, at popularizing the archival profession and service, as well as at raising awareness of the need to protect archives as a general asset of historical and cultural importance. .
The exhibition of documents, photographs and newspaper articles "Woman... Bearer of Social Development in Socialism" will provide visitors with a broader picture of the emergence of the Anti-Fascist Women's Front, AFŽ.
"It is a complete mosaic of documents, photographs and newspaper articles that create an account of the origin of the Anti-Fascist Women's Front - an organization formed in 1943 in Bosanski Petrovac until the nineties, when it separated from the Socialist Union of Working People and continued its journey independently. We believe that among the abundance of documents that are on the shelves of our depots, we have chosen documents that testify to the struggle, inspiration and courage of women in the challenging years of this period, but also to the great progress of women in every segment of the social life of our country. "Women joined modern social trends, destroying many prejudices and traditionalism of the environment, but many of them gave up along the way, keeping a lower position and jobs in the family," the organizers point out in the announcement.
The program continues tomorrow at the "Radosav Ljumović" National Library, when the "Working People of Podgorica" document and photo exhibition will be opened at 11 a.m.
In the press release, they state that the work of the State Archives on cultural and educational activities comes to the fore during this manifestation, which provides for the presentation of the work done throughout the week.
