The candidate for the winner of the Thirteenth of July Award, Zoran Ilinčić, filed a criminal complaint with the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office (VDT) against the Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović and the Jury for awarding the Thirteenth of July Award due to, as he stated, suspicion of corruption.
Ilinčić stated in the application that "Vijesti" had access to that, in his opinion, the selection and announcement of the winners was not done with a correct assessment of their work and contribution to society.
"... so that after that the winners are announced, with the absence of a fair and professional assessment of the quality of individual candidates, with the dominant presence of corrupt methods, the best decisions were allegedly made by secret voting. It is also very indicative that the value of the work of one engineer or physicists are judged by historians or writers," said Ilinčić.
He believes that it is incomprehensible that Dragan Koprivica will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in the registered competition when "at least ten candidates have convincingly better references than him", and that the contributions of individuals are known in Montenegro.
"The only way for that man to receive such an award is through corrupt influence on the members of the Jury or perhaps some other illegal way of working. Given that I was also a candidate for the Award that Mr. Koprivica received, I request that the Jury publicly compare my and his reference list attached for the awarding of the award, so that without protection it could be seen who is better," said Ilinčić.
He asked the VDT to examine the conditions under which Koprivica was declared the winner, in what he is better than the others and why there is no detailed explanation why it was not someone else from the candidate.
