The Ministry of Culture and Media does not participate in proposing, selecting and making a decision on the winners of the Thirteenth of July Award, it was announced from the cabinet of the relevant minister, Tamara Vujović.
"We remind the public that the Parliament of Montenegro, in accordance with Article 19 of the Law on State Awards, appoints members of the jury for the Thirteenth Award," the announcement states.
It is added that the role of the Ministry of Culture and Media in the process of awarding the Thirteenth of July Award is "exclusively of an administrative nature for the needs of the work of the jury".
"In order to timely fulfill the obligations arising from the Law on State Awards, the Ministry of Culture and Media addressed the Administrative Board of the Parliament of Montenegro for the appointment of the president and 6 members of the Jury by acts of 6.3.2024 and 24.4.2024. The Administrative Board at its 13th Session held proposed the appointment of the Jury for the Thirteenth of July Award to the Assembly on 25/4/2024. At the Fifth Session of the First Regular Session (sixth day), held on 13/5/2024 under the Elections, Appointments and Dismissals item, the deputies also adopted: Proposal for the appointment of the President and six members of the Jury for the awarding of the Thirteenth of July Award.
