Musical fireworks of the Festival Orchestra and Choir Virtuosi, under the direction of one of the greatest Serbian and world conductors Bojan Sudjic and with special guests Nevena Božović i Dušan Svilar, on Monday evening in front of the "Palas" hotel in Petrovac, the music program of the XXXVIII Grad Teatar festival continued.
During this musical spectacle, well-known compositions were performed Karla Orfa, Đoakina Rosinija, Žorža Bizea, Vitorija Montija, Artura Marquis i Stevan Hristić, but also the famous songs "O sole mio", "Bella ciao", "Besame mucho", "Pjesmo moja", "Zajdi zajdi", "September dawn is not yet", "Pkni zoro", "March on the Drina" and many others. Towards the very end of the program, the musicians received a standing ovation and invitations to return to the stage on several occasions and perform compositions for an encore.
The festival choir "Virtuosi" consists of the best selected professional singers from Belgrade and Novi Sad, while Suđić is certainly the most prominent conductor name in today's music in these areas. For more than a decade, he has been the artistic director of the RTS Music Production, the chief conductor of renowned ensembles - the RTS Symphony Orchestra and the RTS Choir, and he is the artistic director of BEMUS.
Suđić said earlier that Petrovac is the place he has the best memories of.
"It is the place of my origin and upbringing, where everything draws me to its roots, and it is the most difficult to present myself in my own way. I am especially glad that I experienced Budva and Grad Theater organizing this kind of event for the first time. It's a very demanding concert, with a big stage and a large number of performers on stage, and it's a program that is constantly changing, but which excites the audience wherever we perform".
Speaking about the program, Suđić then said that the biggest recognition was that many other individuals recognized what he had started to do in this region many years ago.
"They saw that space is very important in the popularization of art music, and that the story that we don't know and love classical music enough is artificial, and that it just needs to be brought closer to the audience in the right way. The zeitgeist is such that we are amazed by all possible contents, far more intensely than in previous years. And it is wrong to separate things, but quality can be found in everything, even in some subcultural content. However, there is also a lack of quality in what is called high culture, if a person who deals with it in the wrong way approaches it. There is nothing worse than performing very demanding compositions in an unworthy manner", said Suđić.
When it comes to Petrovac, Suđić pointed out that the time he spends in Petrovac during the summer is precious to him, and that whenever he doesn't have the opportunity to stay there longer, he feels tired later.
"As the years go by, I'm there more and more often in the off-season, and I really think that our people often don't know what we have here and how much it should be appreciated. This is only possible when you travel around the world and live a little in another place, when you realize how much we all need to contribute so that everything that surrounds us here is nurtured. Everything we have is inexplicable, and I am glad that my acquaintances from all over the world, successful people, as a rule return here, to stay in this beauty for a month or more. They choose Montenegro, because everything can be bought with money, but a sense of identity is difficult", emphasized Suđić.
The musical program of the XXXVIII Grad Teatar festival will continue tomorrow evening on the stage between the churches with a concert by a famous violinist. Dmitriy Sinkovski and Virtuoso, and the guest will be a flautist Ljubiša Jovanović.
