With an unusual concert by one of the most sought-after and talented artists today, Dmitriy Sinkovski, who together with the Virtuosi and a special guest, a flautist Ljubiša Jovanović, delighted the audience on the stage between the churches, the musical program of this year's Grad Teatar festival continued.

The repertoire included compositions Archangel Corellius (Concerto Grosso in D major op. 6 n.4) i Antonio Vivaldi (Il gardellino, Le quattro stagioni), which the audience on the stage between the churches rewarded with applause and ovations, and the artists returned twice for an encore. The surprise of the evening was the song "Come Again, Sweet Love" of John Dowland, which was sung by Sinkovski himself accompanied by a musician on the lute, which brought the audience to its feet and rewarded this superb and multi-talented artist with a standing ovation.

Sinkovski normally performs as a violinist, conductor and countertenor, and the audience at last night's concert witnessed the ease, energy and virtuosity with which this artist displays all his talents and skills.

After the concert, Sinkovski said that for the last three years he has been engaged as the chief conductor, and that he has not had the opportunity to practice the violin repertoire every day.

"I play the violin with my musicians, but I am physically unable to practice every day. Some ten years ago I played 'Four Seasons' all over the world, it was the repertoire I played every day. Tonight, thank God, everything went fantastic, which means that the muscles remember. I am grateful to the musicians and I deeply bow to them, because they were very interested, we worked hard for the last two days, the rehearsals were intense. They were great," said Sinovski.

He thanked the maestro Bojan Sudjic who invited him to the festival.

"He is a great friend of mine, he used to come to Russia and work with my orchestra. The 'Grad Teatar' festival is great, the Virtuosi orchestra is also great musicians. There is a great atmosphere for music on this stage, especially for 'Four Seasons', because at the moment when we imitate a bird with our instruments, we can also hear the bird here in the open air", added this artist.

As Sinkovski concluded, last night's performance at the "Grad Teatar" festival was his first performance in Montenegro, and he was very pleased to be able to play in a country he considers his own, given that he often stays there.

Flutist Ljubiša Jovanović emphasized that this evening between churches was wonderful for him on many levels.

"First of all, I played here at the first or second Gradu Theater with the 'Sofia Soloists' in the church of Santa Maria in Punta and later many more times. I haven't been in the last couple of years and this is a great joy for me because I adore this festival, I am attached to it, I have many memories and experiences. This was an important emotional act for me", he said and added that it is difficult to choose the best memory from the Grad Teatar festival.

"There are so many of them, it's hard to choose. I was a great friend with Ratko Vulanović, so he called me to set up together on Poets' Square, then with Jovan Ćirilov I have a lot of memories, with Nikita Milivojević. I participated in all these projects of theirs, there are a lot of memories. I carry this festival very deeply inside me and I am excited that it is so, Jovanović added and pointed out that today the festival is struggling with many external factors.

"This type of tourism is destroying some culture that we used to know, it is taking on new forms. I see that the organizers fight bravely and I admire them because I know how difficult it is and I am really amazed by the program in the circumstances in which the Citadel is no longer from Budva. That hurts me. We live in a world where everything can be bought, including cultural goods. Time doesn't have to go back, but let's all create a new time together in which culture will have its beautiful and noble place", concluded Jovanović.
