In the Durmitor National Park in Žabljak, always outdoors and during the night in the pine forest next to the Black Lake, as well as in the very heart of the city on Durmitor's Warriors' Square, the "Green Montenegro International Film Fest (GMIFF)", an international film festival in Montenegro, is held the topic of environmental protection, ecology and sustainable development. The jubilee tenth edition of the festival, which lasts until Sunday, will begin today.
The official opening ceremony will be held at 20.30:XNUMX p.m. at the Black Lake, and the attendees will be addressed by: the Minister of Culture and Media of Montenegro Tamara Vujović, Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Tourism Damjan Ćulafić, as well as a famous Montenegrin actress Dubravka Drakić. This will be followed by the photo exhibition "Living life as a clear river" by him Vaso Knežević.
The first festival program starts today already at 10 a.m., when the round table "GMIFF as a cultural and ecological phenomenon of Montenegro" has been announced, which will be held in the House of Pekić in the Šavnik Culture Center. At 11 a.m., the "Arhus Caravan" will follow in the building of the Municipality of Žabljak, which includes environmental education, a discussion on environmental protection and the participation of citizens through the Aarhus Convention, and then, at 13 p.m., a large action to clean up the shores of the Black Lake is scheduled.
The film competition program will be opened by the Russian film "The Fire Fox" directed by him Dmitry Špilenok which will be screened tonight at 21 p.m. At the end of the first evening, from 22.45:300 p.m., the silent party "EverGREEN XNUMX" has been announced, when DJ Zonjo vs. DJ Nina will take care of the atmosphere, it was announced in the program.
The "Green Montenegro IFF" program is divided into four categories: ecology, ecology of the soul, promotional tourist films and student films. In addition to recognition for first, second and third place in the aforementioned categories, the "Grand Prix" is also awarded for the best film at the festival, which as a rule deals with an environmental theme.
In addition to the rich film program that continues tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, GMIFF also organizes lectures, masterclasses, conferences, exhibitions, rafting tours, hiking, cycling tours, kayaking on lakes, promotion of organic food and more.
The selector of this year's edition of the festival for the categories "Ecology" and "Ecology of the Soul" is Gojko Berkuljan, Montenegrin director and chief producer of Radio and Television of Montenegro. He is a selector for the "Promo-tourist films" category Daniel Pavlic, activist, designer and film worker, while he is a selector for the "Student films" category Andro Martinovic, director and associate at the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts.
The members of the GMIFF jury for the categories "Ecology" and "Ecology of the soul" are: Ivan Marinović (Montenegro), Aleksandra Drobac Diagne (Philadelphia) and Branka Besović Gajić (Serbia); For the promotional-tourist film category Nikola Solić (Croatia), and for the student film category Željko Jack Dimić (America).
