With a combination of songs from the latest album "Should I Stay or Should I Go" and selected tracks from their past two-decade long career, the authentic French band "Nouvelle Vague" will premiere in Montenegro tonight, at the Rubix festival, announced to "Vijesta" the producer and leader of the Nouvelle Vague Mark Kolin (Marc Collin).
A unique, intimate, good and "fluffy" atmosphere on the Synchro Stage from 23 p.m. is guaranteed, and in addition to already known hits, the repertoire will also include new covers that this band gives a special experience in its recognizable and irresistible "bossa" new" style. Kolin told "Vijesta" that they remain consistent with their repertoire that they have prepared for the tour, regardless of the country in which they are performing.
"To be honest, we do not adapt the repertoire to countries and audiences. Whether we play in Korea, Mexico or here in Montenegro, we will play all the agreed repertoire. People love our albums and many of them come to our concerts with the intention of hearing certain songs, and we don't want to deny them that. With this tour we are celebrating 20 years since the founding of our band, and at the same time we are presenting a new album. Accordingly, our concert tonight will be a mix of tracks from the new album and those previously known, from the first album on here. So, it is a mixture, a combination of all our previous work", said Kolin.
Kolin has been in Montenegro for three days and told the "News" that he had previously been informed about the past of our country, but also about current events. He was particularly interested in nature, the sea, mountains, tradition, but also the wild beauty, about which he had heard and read a lot, and which he plans to explore in more detail in the coming days, during the break until the performance in Portugal on August 16.
"So far I have only been to Porto Montenegro and the beach. (laughs) The plan is to visit the capital Cetinje, and for today I thought I would visit the northern part, possibly to see some wild beach or a village on the coast. I want to discover and get to know a little bit of everything. Certainly, so far it's been very nice and I'm enjoying it," said Kolin.
Their music is characterized by sophisticated arrangements and a unique atmosphere, and represents a kind of fusion of different genres. The combination of all kinds of art and new technologies is the vision of the Rubix festival, which is being held in Tivat for the second time. Although he doesn't know much about the festival, Colin pointed out that he likes the idea of uniting different media, and therefore everyone can find something for themselves.
Tonight's program on the Synchro stage opens with "Drumbooty" (Peđa Milutinović) at 20 p.m., a Montenegrin musician will perform at 21 p.m Aleksandra Prelevic Palladino, who is building a career under a pseudonym Dolce Hera, then "Sly the band" which will warm up the audience for "Nouvelle Vague", after which "Crazy P Sound System" takes over the stage.
