Culture is the essence of the progress of a society, and we are at this level because, unfortunately, our attitude towards culture is at an unsatisfactory level, said the leader of the European Union list in the upcoming local elections in Podgorica, Boris Mugoša, on the panel "What culture needs in Podgorica".
As announced by the European Union, Mugoša gathered relevant figures from the field of culture, friends and fellow citizens who create in Podgorica at this, as described, non-partisan forum held in Njegošev Park.
"At this moment, making a non-partisan mini-tribune like this in culture is a big challenge. I will try to get out of the political matrices, and not at any moment think that we are in any kind of campaign, barefoot in a culture affirmation campaign, which in my opinion is in my opinion, the essence of a society's progress. We are at this level because, unfortunately, our attitude towards culture is at an unsatisfactory level," said Mugoša.
He emphasized that it is necessary to listen to the profession and that he gathered his friends because it seems to him that the decision-makers listen to the profession less and less and think more and more that they understand each other about some things that they do not.
The actress Julija Milačić Petrović Njegoš talked about the pressing problems when it comes to dramatic art and pointed out that the City Theater in Podgorica still does not have its own building and that the employees of that theater work in conditions that are inhumane in 2024, according to the statement of the European Union. She added that it is necessary to find ways to provide greater support from the city for festivals.
Composer Senad Gačević pointed out that today we have a serious ostracization of culture. He said that the House of Ksenija Cicvarić should be built, headed by Mičo Miranović, according to the announcement of the European Union.
Writer and professor of Montenegrin literature, Vladimir Vojinović, said that citizens should be allowed to enjoy books in the capital, without having to go to other places for books, and pointed out that Podgorica is the only significant city that he knows of that does not have a fairground.
Composer and music producer Vladimir Maraš, according to the announcement of the European Union, pointed out that Montenegro never had a clearly defined cultural policy, while musician Ilija Pejović emphasized that Podgorica must be a center of culture.
