The photo exhibition "Proces/FLU Cetinje 2023/2024", which will present the works of students of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FLU) from Cetinje, will be opened on Wednesday, in Podgorica, in the "F 64" Gallery, at 20 p.m.

The works for the exhibition were chosen by a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Arts in Cetinje Sandra Đurović, which is during the 2023/2024 school year. led exercises on subjects in the field of photography, on which they were realized.

Prof. mr Lazar Pejović states that the exhibition includes the works of students of the second year of basic studies who are just starting to deal with photography (Jelena Bogojević, Bojana Vušurović, Pauline Kandybovich, Nevena Petrović, Ines Radović), students of the third year of the course "Graphic Design" (Mia Bulatović, Jelena Vujović, Tamara Femić, Ivona Mirković, Tereza Živković), as well as the works of students of the first year of master's studies in graphic design and painting (Bojana Vukčević, Valentina Dronjak, Sandra Bošković, Jovana Mijanović, Milanka Mirković, Ivana Milić, Ina Koprivica).

"All of them had a specific task: from a simple interpretation of the assigned topic (II year), through designing a photographic solution for a pre-selected topic and its design in the form of a poster (III year), to recognizing and applying the tactics of using the medium of photography in contemporary art and design of practice (MA). Although these are simple tasks that apparently do not leave much space for free authorial expression, in some works a high quality of creative consideration of the topic and its visual articulation has been achieved," Pejović pointed out.

Pejović reminded that the F64 gallery started its exhibition program with the exhibition of the students of the FLU Cetinje in 2021. Since then, he assesses, it has built an enviable status and established itself as a regional center for the promotion and presentation of the art of photography, and in the same period, the teaching in the field of photography at FLU Cetinje was significantly modernized.

"The program of lectures and exercises is aimed at understanding contemporary phenomena in the medium of photography, but also the cultural, social, historical and artistic context on which they are based. In relation to practical work, this approach is reflected in the insistence on understanding the procedures through which a message/idea is articulated in the medium of photography. The emphasis is more on the understanding and contextualization of semantic layers than on the technical procedure or formal and production perfection - let's not forget that these are not students of photography, but of graphic design, painting, intermediate art, sculpture," Pejović points out.
