The guest of the 63rd Sarajevo Days of Poetry, an international literary festival that was started in 1962, will be a Montenegrin poet. Boris Jovanović Kastel. The festival is held from October 1 to 5, and the organizer of the festival is the Association of Writers of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the oldest cultural association that has been active since 1945.
The festival brings together writers, poets and lovers of literature from all over the world, providing a unique platform for the exchange of ideas and cultural experiences. This year, the Sarajevo Days of Poetry will be held at several locations in Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, Goražde and Kakanj, it was announced by the Society of Writers.
"This year, as in previous years, the Festival will host authors from Denmark, Norway, Germany, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro within the framework of a five-day program, at attractive locations in Sarajevo, whose verses will superiorly present the opulence and diversity of contemporary poetry through forms of reading, literary talks, workshops and other activities, and enable interaction and creative exchange between authors and the audience. A special segment is planned in which children's writers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad will be presented," the announcement reads.
At the closing evening of the 63rd Sarajevo Poetry Days, as part of the "Sarajevo in Song" program, the Bosnian stećak award will be awarded, and this year's laureate is Željko Ivanković, poet, novelist, literary critic, translator and publicist.
"We chose people who create in silence, and who are special," said dr Bisera Suljić-Boškailo, writer and president of the Sarajevo Poetry Days program council.
