With a traditional promenade concert through the streets of Tivat, the "Tivat" Music and Educational Society will mark Society Day today, which is celebrated in memory of the same date in 1944, when the GPD collectively left occupied Tivat and, under the leadership of Kapellmeister Krsto Vuksanović, joined the partisans in the anti-fascist struggle.
At that time, 19 members of Tivat's Music went to the partisans with complete instruments they had previously stolen under the cover of night from the municipal building where the instruments were kept confiscated by the German occupiers. The music and educational society "Tivat" was founded way back in 1909 and is the oldest active cultural institution in that city.
The upcoming GPD promenade concert on Friday is organized as part of the "November Days", as a month-long manifestation commemorating the liberation of Tivat in the Second World War, on November 21, 1944.
