The competitive part of the jubilee 20th International Festival of Actors in Nikšić was closed last night by the performance of the Montenegrin National Theater "I am the one that I am not". The actors of the play, which consists of three one-act plays, "Montenegro Lolita", "Porno film" and "The girl's wife", and which was directed by Mata Matišić and directed by Vito Taufer, were sent off with thunderous applause.

"This is a story about the oppression of women and the problems they face. It was a pleasure to defend the tragic fate of a young woman", said Anđela Marunović at the round table after the play, who plays the main female role in the first one-act play "Montenegro Lolita".

The dramaturgy of the play, which premiered at the end of January this year, was written by Stefan Bošković, set design by Lazar Bodrož, costume design by Lina Leković, music by Mate Matišić, and choreography by Julija Milačić Petrović Njegoš. Actors: Anđela Marunović, Nikola Vasiljević, Gorana Dragašević, Srđan Grahovac, Žaklina Oštir, Jelena Nenezić, Dejan Đonović, Ana Vučković, Zoran Vujović, Lazar Dragojević, Varja Đukić, Davor Dragojević, Izudin Bajrović, Lazar Đurđević, Predrag Pavićević, Marko Kažić , Mina Mićović, Andrea Drašković, Radmila Škuletić and Kristina Mrkić.

The play deals with the women's issue and each one-act is about women who have accepted to play the roles that are "expected" of them.

"I am happy that we did this drama by Mata Matisic, that we covered all possible situations of broken interpersonal relations, showed the fate of women who are victims of political and patriarchal family relations, family weaknesses, misogyny, problems arising from the economic crisis. We told a lot. I think the audience followed the play well and I'm sure they saw how, through the realization of this story, the dramaturgy changes and how the main actors follow it", said Varja Đukić.

The subjugation of women, her sacrifice for the sake of her family, violence, corruption, hypocrisy, careerism, criminalization of society... are just some of the themes dealt with in the play "I am the one that I am not".

"We live in a world where the strings have loosened and where the mice run the wheel. There is no nobility in certain things, which should exist, in the foundations of some institutions, and we all know that certain things end very easily and in what ways. All that explains these performances, all her acts, which shine in a special way", said Srđan Grahovac.

Three women, one at the threshold of life burdened by a family legacy, the second at a mature age who finds herself in a business and artistic environment and the third who at the age of 65 is reassessing her life and admits that she chose the role of victim for the sake of her family, each in her own way struggles with a life and an environment that is still dominantly male.

"I found the space to discover in small roles what, somewhere, exists in me and I am satisfied that I contributed to this performance at this level with my engagement, fitness, knowledge and inner artistic being. I always look forward when we play it and I believe it will have a life", said Jelena Nenezić.

Humor, which goes from comedy, black humor and grotesque elements, to tragedy and melodrama, helps in additional "coloring" of character, exposing the mentality, so that in the end we don't know if we are fighting reality with laughter, mocking ourselves and life, or we squint on purpose. It's up to us. and whatever way we choose at the end of the scene, but also of life, we remain human.

"It's interesting to follow the play in other environments and see how it communicates with the audience," said CNP artistic director Vesna Vujošević-Labović.
