The best actor and actress of the 20th International Actor's Festival in Nikšić, according to the opinion of the expert jury, are Nikola Nedić and Jovana Miladinov.
The grand prix for the best male role went to Nedić for the role of ex-boxer Nikola in the play "Gard" by the Zagreb Theater &TD, for which the text was written by Filip Rutić and Dražen Krešić, who also signed the direction, while the grand prix for the best the female role was awarded to Jovana Miladinov for the role of Isabella de Valois in the play "Edward II" directed by Žoldak, based on the text by Saša Dimovski and Andrej Žoldak, and produced by NUCK "Jordan HK - Džinot" from Veles and Drama Theater "Masanitinov" from Plovdiv.
The awards were decided by an expert jury consisting of: Zijah Sokolović, president, and Vesna Čipčić and Miloš Latinović, members.
"Nikola Nedić intelligently, professionally varied, convincingly and consistently revived the character of the artist in the narrow space between desires and possibilities. Jovana Miladinova bravely stepped out of the space of her current life habitus and boldly left her mark through a significant directorial process and in a fascinating way - with words, movement, energy - created the character of Izabela, a woman torn between love, passion, but also the desire for power and the heights of power." , stated the jury, and the explanation was read by Sokolović.
The Grand Prix for the best male and female episodic role went to Vasil Zafirčev, for the role of Gaveston in the play "Edward II", and Varja Đukić, for the role of Stanka in the play "I'm not the one" by Mate Matišić, directed by Vito Taufer and produced by Crnogorski national theater.
"Vasil Zafirčev created the character of Gaveston with a unique stage lyric, but also with precise acting tools based on choreography and stage movement. Varja Đukić created the character of Stanka using simple stage means, relying on the exciting, poetic and tragic search for meaning of a woman who has lost everything", explained Sokolović.
The Grand Prix for the best partner relationship on the stage was awarded to Milan Kovačević and Aljoša Đidić, for the roles of father and son, in the play about people with developmental disabilities, "World of Possibilities", written and directed by Haris Pašović, which is a co-production project of the Serbian National Theater from Novi Sad, "Grad Teatra" from Budva, "East West Center" from Sarajevo and "Tala" Dance Center from Zagreb.
"With their creations, Kovačević and Đidić evoked an emotional, exciting and true, painful and tragic relationship between a son and a father left in the world without understanding," the jury pointed out.
In the competitive part of the festival, five plays were performed, and Jelena Stajkovac was in charge of the selection.
"The selection of plays in the competition was diverse and artistically potent, and the concept of a festival dedicated to acting left a lot of room for theatrical and critical analysis, as well as audience satisfaction. "Genre diversity, thematically relevant, directorially interesting and acting inspired, are artistic constants that made the Nikšić Theater the artistic capital of the region from night to night," concluded the jury.
The awards were presented by the director of the Nikšić Theater, Radinko Krulanović, and the actress Vesna Čipčić, who will also close the festival, which lasted from November 4 to 9, and this year's slogan was "Life for the taking".
Of the awardees, actresses Jovana Miladinov and Varja Đukić were present, while the award for Nedić was received by the director of the TD Theater from Zagreb. Đidić and Kovačević addressed the audience via video link.
The program was led by Velizar Kasalica.
After the award ceremony, Zijah Sokolović's monodrama "Lejevo, desno, glumac" will be performed in honor of the winners, instead of the announced "Medvjed", in which Sokolović also plays with the jazz trio "Lolita" from Ljubljana. In this play, Sokolović sublimates his thoughts about the theater in the past half century of his acting career.
