The National Museum of Montenegro announced today that it has successfully completed the restoration work on Njegoš's mausoleum in Lovcen.
The announcement states that as part of the works, the roof was repaired, which caused a big problem during heavy rainfall, and that restoration work was carried out inside the building, the atrium was repaired, the vault of the chapel with gilded mosaics was repaired, and the marble and caryatids were restored.
"Rehabilitation works were carried out in the crypt and on the tomb, and the copper doors near the sculpture and the crypt were restored. Also, the interior lighting was replaced. The works lasted three months," the National Museum said in a statement.
