Njegoš - ruler, philosopher, poet and sage - left a deep mark on the history, culture and identity of our people, it was announced at the event "Njegoš between the covers", which was organized on the occasion of November 12 - Njegoš Day, the Montenegrin holiday of culture, which was held today at the Cultural Center in Bijelo Polje.
The program was organized by the public institutions Bijelo Polje Museum, Ratković's poetry evenings and the "Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo" Culture Center.
Writers and literary critics Bogić Rakočević and Ksenija Rakočević spoke at the forum, and short video forms were also shown - excerpts from "Luče mikrokosma" and the song "Night of the Gathering of Vijeka" directed by Ivana Smolović, performed by Petar Novaković and Nataša Veličković.
Bogić Rakočević pointed out that Njegoš is the most important South Slavic philosopher, and that in Montenegro Njegoš is famous as the foundation, the basis of literature and culture in general.
"Even in Serbia, he is considered the 'greatest Serbian poet,' however, Njegoš, like all great creators and all great writers, is supranational," said Rakočević, adding that Njegoš belongs to European culture, European values, or anyone who understands him and who is reading it.
Ksenija Rakočević said that great writers give us the opportunity to take a point of view, emphasizing that she "likes to read Njegoš as a text about love, about dialogue, as a text that celebrates and moves the principle of beauty, based on the feminine principle".
"I approach Njegoš as a contemporary in whose texts I find the theses of fostering dialogue, because in Njegoš he literally writes Montenegrins and native Turks, by no means adversarial, so both of them perform with the idea of conducting dialogue", said professor Ksenija Rakočević, emphasizing that if you enter text, that in them you will not find any of these later extractions from the context, where it is reduced to politics and ideology.
