The traditional 46th Montenegrin art salon "13. novembar" was opened last night in the Montenegrin art gallery "Miodrag Dado Đurić" in Cetinje.
The artist Abaz Dizdarević is the winner of the grand prix award of the Salon. The expert jury, headed by the president Maja Đurić, decided that the three equal awards of the Salon will be awarded to Anka Gardašević, Adin Rastoder and Milena Vukoslavović, Mediabiro writes.
Opening the Salon, the mayor of Prijestonica, Nikola Đurašković, said that Cetinje today testifies to how courage and determination bring freedom, and freedom, as an eternal inspiration, brings art, culture and intellectual creativity.
"The Montenegrin art salon was created in the sixties of the last century in just such a spirit - the spirit of free creation and gathering, as a kind of tribute to the acquired freedom and the expression of artistic creativity that derives from it. Based on these values, artists from Cetinje gathered to launch the event in honor of the Liberation Day, which would nurture the fine arts, encourage creativity and celebrate the achievements of artists throughout Yugoslavia at the time," said Đurašković.
He expressed satisfaction that this year the art salon gathered numerous artists from Montenegro and the region, confirming that Cetinje remains a place where art and culture find their home.
The exhibition, enriched with the properties of a creative experiment, has a special goal - to thematize and problematize the reality of the future time through artistic expressions, said the selector of the Salon Selma Đečević.
"To put it simply, the works of art created this year, in 2024, should represent the reality in 30, 50, 70 years, the reality of the impressions at that time, the reality of the creative expression at that time and, finally, the reality of the reference to the past at that time. In a certain way, this the selection of works of art represents an attempt to make a complete departure from the past, not primarily as a space of memory, but as a space inhabited by the measures and determinations that define this moment and our future reality," said Đečević.
At this year's Salon, 15 artists presented their works: Elisa Andessner, Marko Čakalović, Abaz Dizdarević, Stefan Doru Moscu, Vladimir Dado Đuranović, Darko Đurović, Tijana Gordić, Anka Gardašević, Nikola Marković, Tanja Markuš, Damir Murseljević, Lidija Nikčević, Adin Rastoder, Jovana Šarac Dakić, Milena Vukoslavović.
The organizers of the Art Salon are the Capital of Cetinje and the Society of Art Historians of Montenegro. The co-financier is the Ministry of Culture and Media, and the partner is the National Museum of Montenegro.
Technical support in the realization of the exhibition was provided by the Museum of Contemporary Art, the National Museum and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje.
