A lecture by a professor of culture and literature Nele Savkovic Vukcevic on the topic "Lalić's homo heroicus" will be held tomorrow, in the premises of Matica Montenegrin, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of one of the most important Montenegrin writers of the 20th century.
Lalić follows Montenegrins in a long historical period and their challenges, personal and collective, to maintain their existence and self-awareness through dramatic changes. What is left of the ideal of humanity, why there was no understanding of "homo heroicus" and why man rises again when a deep crisis occurs, are topics that Lalić, as well as the students of his work, devoted themselves to.
Nela Savković Vukčević graduated from the University of Montenegro, from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, and received her master's degree from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. For several years, she taught the subject of Rhetoric at the University of Montenegro and the University of Donja Gorica. She trained in Great Britain and the USA. She is a member of Matica Montenegrin and Montenegrin PEN Center.
