The regional festival of books and writers BOOKA 2024 will be held from December 14 to 29, it was announced at today's press conference.
This year's, the 16th edition of the literary event, will again be marked by hosting Rada Šerbedžija who will present his poetry, but also hold concerts in three cities: Podgorica, Nikšić and Herceg Novi.
"And this year, our guest is Rade Šerbedžija. During the previous festivals, the Podgorica audience had the opportunity to get acquainted with his prose works, and this time his poetry will be presented. The conversation and reading will take place on December 26 at the Kosmos bookstore, and two days later, on December 28, a concert at the Music Center of Montenegro", said the editor at the publishing house "Nova knjiga" Marija Vujosevic.
Vujošević reminded that BOOKA hosted many award-winning regional and international authors in previous years, but this year the focus will be on local and regional authors.
"A rich program will be organized at the Kosmos bookstore in the Master quarter. The plan is to promote important domestic and regional authors, where their new novels will be presented," said Vujošević and announced the promotion of the work: "Constellation of Scrolls". Two evenings of poetry will also be organized Milan Knežević and Rada Šerbedžija, she added, and the detailed program schedule will be published in the coming days.
As part of the festival, a sales exhibition of English books will be opened in the Kosmos bookstore, where a large number of publishers and titles will be presented, and what the organizers see as a unique offer they have prepared for Podgorica readers. In addition, Vujošević announced a number of literary and entertainment programs for the youngest, which will be held in the morning classes.
The concerts of Rada Šerbedžija in Nikšić on December 27 and Herceg Novi on December 29 were announced by the director of Herceg Fest. Tanja Ateljević and director of the Tourist Organization Nikšić Mitar Barac. The ticket price for Šerbedžija's concert in Podgorica is 30 euros, in Nikšić 10 euros, and in Herceg Novi 15 euros.
