The Music Center of Montenegro announces the first matinee concert of the new season, which will be held tomorrow, December 11, in the MCCG Chamber Hall at 12 noon. This unique event will feature the two-time world champion in accordion, Petar Balaban. Entrance is free.
According to the announcement, the program will include compositions Johann Sebastian Bach: Prelude and fugue in F minor, Domenica Scarlatia: Sonata in D minor, Sonata in B minor, Frank Angelis: Suite for accordion, Yuri Romanova: Romance, Vladimir Zubicki: Concert partita in jazz style no. 1, IV and V paragraph, Arkady Macanova: Bee, Jozef Helmesberger: Devil's dance.
Petar Balaban, born in 2006 in Belgrade, began his musical education in Cetinje, and improved his skills in Podgorica under the mentorship of professors. Tiana i Miroslav Ilic. Already at an early age, he achieved outstanding results at domestic and international competitions, winning over 40 first prizes as a soloist and chamber performer. His talent and dedicated work have been recognized at prestigious festivals and competitions across Europe, including laureates in Tivat, Pula, Sarajevo and other music centers.
In 2024, he became the first accordionist from Montenegro to win the junior title at the renowned international competitions Coupe Mondiale and Trophée Mondiale, thereby writing a new page in the history of the Montenegrin accordion school.
Petar Balaban has performed at numerous important concerts, including: Concert of the young scene of Montenegrin accordionists in Tivat, Beer Fest in Cetinje, cycle "Young talents" in KIC "Budo Tomović", Podgorica cultural summer and a concert in the Italian city of Chieta. In addition, he perfected his skills at master workshops under the guidance of world-renowned pedagogues and accordionists.
This matinee concert provides an opportunity for music lovers to enjoy the superb performance of classical and contemporary compositions, as well as the exceptional artistic sensibility of the young virtuoso who delights the audience wherever he performs.
