The long-awaited publication - the monograph "Crni Plat - Genius loci Tivat" by a tireless researcher of the layered history of Tivat and Boka - has been published. Dragan S. Rajčević. His book is based on four decades of field research and scientific and archival material that tells about one of the oldest settlements in Vrmac, the origin of today's Tivat village, Crni Plat.
"Crni Plat - Genius loci of Tivat" will be presented to the public in the Multimedia Hall of the Municipality of Tivat, on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 19 p.m.
The publisher-director of the Public Institution Tivat City Library, a professor, will talk about the valuable publication Vesna Barbić, reviewers of the edition - prof. Ph.D Boris Ilijanic and prof. Ph.D Ilija Vujacic, and I am the author. Female professors will perform in the musical part of the program Nevila Klakor- violin, i Bruna Matijević- flute.
Dragan Rajčević has been researching the past of Tivat, with special attention paid to its hinterland - the slopes of Vrmac, since his early youth. In addition to numerous projects, among which stand out the exhibition dedicated to the village of Crni Plat, the collection and analysis of dialectological peculiarities of the Tivat language, and the research and exhibition on the nutritional and medicinal plants of Vrmac, the book "Crni Plat - Genius loci of Tivat" represents his life's work. Although a layman, Rajčević collaborated in his research with the greatest authorities in the archival profession from our area and beyond, earning high marks from relevant reviewers in terms of bringing new scientifically relevant facts that will be of importance to future researchers of the past of the Tivat area.
The work on the monograph and printing of the work "Crni Plat- Genius loci Tivat" was supported by the Secretariat for Social Activities of the Municipality of Tivat through the publishing activity support program. The book was printed in 300 copies.
