Mirjana Maslovar, a long-time cultural worker, philosophy professor, vice president of the Citizens' Association CIVIS, and HR consultant, passed away today at the age of 60.
In addition to numerous engagements, she was briefly the State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture and Media in 2023, as well as the Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro for Education, Health and Social Policy from November 2023 to July 2024.
From 2002 to 2004, she was also the director of the Public Institution and Festival Grad Teatar Budva.
"It is with great sadness that we received the news that Mrs. Mirjana Maslovar, director of the institution and festival 'Grad Teatar' from 2002 to 2004, passed away today in Podgorica. She was a lady who was adorned with a sincere love and interest in art and philosophy, a person of extreme empathy, ruthlessly and uncompromisingly interested in everything that brings prosperity to society as a whole. We will remember Mirjana for her courageous aspirations and kind heart. May she be eternally glorified and praised," the Grad Teatar announced.
Mirjana Maslovar was born in Kotor and graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade.
The Citizens' Alliance CIVIS announced that Maslovar passed away after a short but invincible illness.
"Mirjana Maslovar's intellectual, academic and human contribution to her environment, including CIVIS, was and will remain immeasurably great and significant. The brilliance of her mind, the purity and breadth of her spirit, which adorned her, were her qualities, which will remain as an eternal memory of Prof. M. Maslovar," the statement reads.
"Proud to have been privileged to be her friends and comrades, we remain hopeful that this wonderful woman, intellectual, and lady has found her serenity and eternal peace," CIVIS said.
