Vujović: Đurić enriched the artistic landscape of Montenegro with his work and vision

Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović sent a telegram of condolences on the death of painter Slobodan Puro Đurić.

"It is with deep regret that we received the news of the death of Slobodan Puro Đurić, a prominent painter and cultural creator whose work left an indelible mark on Montenegrin art and culture. His long-standing, dedicated engagement in institutions and contribution to the institutionalization of the artistic life of Montenegro laid a solid foundation for future artistic development," Vujović stated.

Vujović said that Đurić, as a painter and mayor of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, head of the Association of Fine Artists of Montenegro, and member of the Presidency of the Association of Fine Artists of Yugoslavia, enriched the artistic landscape of Montenegro with his work and vision.

"Ðurić was one of the founders of the prestigious art salon '13. novembar' and the Art Academy in Cetinje, while his works are imbued with deep respect for Cetinje and the Mediterranean. Magical realism, melancholy, but also the serenity of the Mediterranean came to life on his canvases, reflecting the resonance of the centuries and the spirit of the space to which he belonged," said Vujović.
