A memorandum of cooperation between the Film Center of Montenegro and the National Film Center of Moldova was signed at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin on Sunday, February 16, the Film Center of Montenegro announced today.
The statement added that the Memorandum was signed by the executive directors of the two institutions, Aleksandra Božović and Valentina Jusufođajev.
The Film Center said that this document establishes a solid foundation for more intensive cooperation in the field of audiovisual activities and the affirmation of film culture between the two countries.
"The memorandum envisages the implementation of a screening program of Moldovan films in Montenegro in 2025, as well as Montenegrin film productions in Moldova in 2026," the statement reads.
Božović said that the signing of this Memorandum represents a significant step in strengthening cultural ties between Montenegro and Moldova.
"I believe that this cooperation will open up new opportunities for our filmmakers and contribute to the development of audiences in both countries. We are particularly pleased that this year we will have the opportunity to present the best achievements of Moldovan cinematography to the Montenegrin audience," said Božović.

As announced by the Film Center, the cooperation will also include the implementation of educational workshops, expert lectures and panel discussions, with a special focus on the improvement and development of bilateral cooperation in the field of the film industry.
It is stated that special attention will be paid to networking filmmakers from both countries.
"This Memorandum is the result of our joint effort to create strong ties between the two cinematographies. Through the planned exchange of film programs and expert knowledge, we are creating space for new co-productions and artistic collaborations. We look forward to bringing Montenegrin film art closer to the Moldovan audience and working together on the development of film culture," Yusufodjaev emphasized.
The Music Center said that the signing of this document marks the beginning of a new chapter in cultural cooperation between Montenegro and Moldova.
"Through the joint efforts of the two institutions, the foundations are being laid for a long-term partnership that will enrich the film scenes of both countries and open the door to numerous creative opportunities in the years to come," said the Film Center of Montenegro.
