Montenegrin actress Lidija Kordić, received the "European Shooting Stars 17" award on Monday, February 2025, at a ceremony in the main festival hall - "Berlinale Palast", awarded by the pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of European cinema "European Film Promotion" (EFP). The award was presented in the presence of the festival director Tricia Tatl i Claudia Roth, Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media of Germany.
Kordić was awarded for her role in the Italian film "Diva Futura," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year. The film is currently showing in Italian cinemas and will soon be distributed in the United States.
"I was thinking about that little girl from a coastal village in Montenegro who only dreamed of a moment like this. And here I am. I dedicate this recognition to all little girls who dream big dreams, and of course, to their families," said Lidija Kordić upon receiving the award.
The Montenegrin actress is one of ten European actors selected for this year's "European Shooting Stars" program. The program was realized as part of the 75th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival, and the awards ceremony was hosted by German actress Telma Buabeng.
During the four-day program, young actors and actresses had the opportunity to meet international casting directors and introduce themselves to international journalists. This year's award winners come from ten European countries: Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal and Sweden, and for the first time from Montenegro.
The "European Shooting Stars" program was implemented with the support of the Creative Europe - MEDIA program of the European Union, the German Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the Berlin International Film Festival and numerous other partners. The Film Center of Montenegro has been a member of the "European Film Promotion" organization since 2018.
