With the screening of the feature film "After the Summer", by the award-winning Bosnian-Herzegovinian director Danis Tanović, Today, the modern, digitalized cinema hall of the Cultural and Information Center (KIC) "Budo Tomović" in Podgorica will be officially opened at 20 p.m.
"This successfully completes the project to digitize the KIC hall through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, the Film Center of Montenegro and the Capital City of Podgorica, as one of the priorities of the National Program for the Development of Cinematography," the announcement states.
The project, the statement emphasizes, included the introduction of state-of-the-art digital cinema equipment.
"This will significantly technically improve the film sector of this institution and at the same time contribute to the overall cinema screening activity in the field of audiovisual culture. This will allow numerous fellow citizens, cinema lovers, to enjoy all future screenings, and the existing and new film audiences will be properly nurtured and created," they state in the statement.
“After the Summer” was Bosnia and Herzegovina’s nominee for the 97th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category, and won a special mention from the Ecumenical Jury at the 40th Warsaw International Film Festival. It is a comedy-drama by Oscar winner Danis Tanović that tells the story of a young woman who comes to a remote island to resolve a family inheritance issue.
"In a whirlwind of new emotions, through a series of unforeseen situations, Maja will finally face questions from her past. The search for her inheritance becomes a search for her own identity, but also for forgiveness," the description reads.
The roles are played by: Anja Matković, Uliks Fehmiu, Goran Navojec, Mario Knezović, Marija Škaričić, Mirela Brekalo, Snježana Sinovčić, Luka Juričić, Boris Ler, Ivana Rosčić, Jadranka Matković. The film was produced by Propeler Film (Croatia) and in co-production with Tangaj Production (Romania), Obala Art Center (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Baš Čelik (Serbia) and Tramal Films (Slovenia). The producers are Lana Matić, Boris T. Matić, Jelena Mitrović, Srdan Golubović, Mirsad Purivatra, Jovan Marjanović, Anamaria Antoci, Miha Černec i Jožko Rutar.
