After 24 years, Slovenia returned to the continental championship, and its players used the first match at the European Championship in Germany to send their last greetings to our Matija Šarkić.
During the match with Denmark in Stuttgart, Jan Oblak and his teammates wore a black flag in honor of the young Montenegrin goalkeeper who died suddenly yesterday.
"With this move, Oblak and his friends showed compassion for everyone in our country and paid tribute to our Matia on the biggest stage. Slovenians, thank you from the bottom of our hearts," announced the Football Association of Montenegro.

Matija Šarkić, the 26-year-old keeper of the "Sokol" net, died yesterday in Budva - just nine days after he showed his class in the match against Belgium.
He played one of the matches in the jersey of Montenegro against the Slovenians - in a friendly match on November 20, 2022.
