The Dutch are proudly leaving the European Championship, is the message of coach Ronald Koeman.
Aston Villa striker Oli Watkins scored in the 90th minute for the English team's 2:1 victory over Oranje in Dortmund, in the second leg of the Euro semi-final.
"I felt that in the last 20 to 25 minutes our team was a little fresher than England, but they scored a great goal in the last minute. That's football. I won't say it was an unfortunate defeat, because the goal was great," Ronald said. Koeman, coach of the Netherlands.
"We can be really proud of our national team, of the players with whom we had a great tournament."
After 20 years, the Netherlands played in the semi-finals of the Euro. However, the way they lost to England is difficult to get over, is the impression of captain Virgil van Dijk.
"I have no words for this. It's terrible when you concede a goal so late, in a game like this. This hurts a lot. We did our best and the way we lost is irrelevant," said the Liverpool player.
