Greek athlete Eleni-Klaudia Polak was temporarily suspended after failing a doping test at the Olympic Games in Paris.
On Monday, Polak competed in the pole vault in the qualifiers, but failed to clear the standard of 4,40 meters and did not advance to the finals.
The Greek Anti-Doping Agency informed the National Olympic Committee about the positive doping test, and the athlete was kicked out of the Olympic Village on Tuesday, the BBC reported.
Polak pleaded not guilty and said she had never taken illegal substances. She added that she had problems with iron and that she had to eat red meat every day and she thinks that caused the problem.
It is the fourth case of doping at the Olympic Games in Paris, after Iraqi judoka Sajad Sehen, Afghan judoka Mohamad Samim Fayzad and Nigerian boxer Cynthia Ogunsemilor.
