Being the leader in the region in the process of accession to the European Union (EU) carries, in addition to satisfaction, additional obligations and responsibilities, it was assessed in the conversation of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Ivan Brajović, with the EU Ambassador to Montenegro, Aiva Orava.
Brajović, as announced by the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, expressed satisfaction that both chapters in the process of Montenegro's accession to the EU related to transport, Chapter 14 - Transport Policy and Chapter 21 - Trans-European transport networks, were opened.
"The interlocutors agree that being a leader in the region in the EU accession process carries, in addition to satisfaction, also additional obligations and responsibilities," the announcement states.
It is added that special attention was paid to the recent visit of the European Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc, which is her first visit to a country in the region.
As it was announced, Brajović informed the ambassador about the progress made so far and the active participation of the relevant Ministry in the implementation of the Agenda for the connection between the EU and the Western Balkans Six.
"The ambassador said that the EU and its Delegation in Podgorica will continue to support the process of Montenegro's accession to the EU," the announcement concludes.
