Dark liquid from the Nikšić collector, the local administration sees no reason for concern

In the video, which a resident of Kapino polje, who is recreating every day next to the Zeta canal, recorded this morning after 10 o'clock with a mobile phone camera, it can be seen that instead of purified water from the wastewater treatment system, a dark liquid is poured into the river, according to the testimony of a resident of Nikšić, who is filmed, with a very unpleasant smell.

After TV Vijesti informed the chief manager of the Municipality, Živko Kecojević, about the problem, the spilling of feces in Zeta stopped.

In mid-September, Kecojević told TV Vijesti that the facility, for which the people of Nikšić waited 12 years and paid 16,5 million euros, is functioning at full capacity.

He comments on today's incident as follows:

"It is not untreated water, but water that has not been completely purified. Physical and mechanical water purification was carried out. Due to a small error in the software, we had that the purification of waste water was not completed completely. The teams at the plant reacted quickly and the fastest in an hour time it's over."

In the Society of Young Ecologists, they see this case differently

"Every, even the smallest incident of this kind is a huge problem for the environment, it's a big problem for the city, because a lot of money has been invested in this facility," says Miodrag Karadžić from the Society of Young Ecologists of Nikšić.

Kecojević claims that such problems do not happen often.

"One case in several years that happened. And what was released and which was not completely cleaned, could not affect the environmental pollution in any way," he says.

A video of the spill of feces from the wastewater treatment plant was also submitted to the Ozone Environmental Movement. From that NGO, they informed the Directorate for Inspection Affairs about the situation, which ordered the water inspectors to carry out inspections during the day.
