Citizens of Bar, who oppose the construction of a kindergarten on the disputed location, say that they are determined to see it through. The municipality of Bar has not yet announced the start of kindergarten construction.
High school students and citizens of Bar continue their fight for trees and the school yard, after the citizens' initiative to change the location of the kindergarten that should be built between the "Niko Rolović" High School and the "Blažo Jokov Orlandić" elementary school was rejected. They do not want to reveal the next steps, but they say that they are determined to see it through. There is no official answer from the Municipality of Bar as to what their next step is, that is, when the construction of the kindergarten on the disputed location will begin.
Next to their trees in their yard, they still stand guard today. High school students from Bar are determined to preserve this space where the kindergarten should be built.
"The fight is still going on and we will certainly not be stopped if we say that some small defeat at the session of the Assembly in our city," said Mirela Čobić, high school student.
"We strongly support our friends even though this is not part of our yard. Each of us should come out and say our opinion, support this, because if we don't fight for nature, what will we fight for," said Ana Hiblović, a high school student.
They believed that this would transcend politics, that is, that the issue was above political interests, but it was not so.
"The task of the initiative is not to stop the fight, we will use all legal means and other means to protect this high school yard. The whole project is endangering children, young people, and the entire local population," she said. is Branka Ćalasan, professor of psychology
They say that they received information from the Ministry of Sustainable Development that they will not cut down 77 trees, as previously announced, but all 130. They do not reveal the details of their plan, but the inspections and the Constitutional Court could deal with this.
"After reviewing those documents, we are only even more encouraged that all this struggle of ours makes sense, because the kindergarten itself as an object is a completely rational solution. Someone's goal now is to push it through, to build it, to satisfy those personal interests on damage to all of us", said Ognjen Banović, architect.
"This is literally a question of common sense, at a time when the whole world is buzzing about the fact that we need as many trees as possible in urban areas," said Bojan Rukavina, a firefighter.
At the session of the Bar Municipality Assembly, the ruling coalition voted in three columns - the councilors of the Bar Municipality Vice President, Radomir Novaković, - Cakana voted for the citizens' initiative that envisages the construction of a kindergarten in another location, the SD was against, and the DPS and BS abstained.
"My students are standing there and they know that people who have the lowest level of morality remain neutral in important situations, in which an important decision needs to be made. So that we do not remain neutral, but rather develop awareness of how important this is for us locals ", said Ćalasan.
Today, it was not possible to get an answer from the municipality of Bar to the question of when the construction of the kindergarten will begin. After all, it is positive that citizens are waking up and that they have organized and rebelled about something they consider important to them.
"Civic awareness is actually this, for people to come together without any agenda, except for what is in front of them. CUT After Berancel, this is the first initiative that came together in this way, that managed to do something, how far it will go, we will see, but it's already good in itself," said Stefan Đukić, professor of philosophy.
The fight continues, for the trees and the school yard where the kindergarten should be built.
