In 2006, the Union of Veterans' Organizations (SOBNOR), when it supported the survival of Yugoslavia, separated from the Union of Veterans' Associations (SUBNOR), which supported independence.
According to a law almost a quarter of a century old, only SUBNOR receives approximately 100.000 euros from the state annually. The SNP proposed changes to the law, so that all veterans' organizations would compete equally for that money.
