The Ministry of the Interior has only one center that receives calls in case of accidents, in Podgorica. This would not have been a big deal if equipment for six more such centers had not been acquired five years ago, which cost almost three and a half million euros.
However, that equipment has never been used and its warranty period has expired, so the big question is whether it can be put into operation again.
They demand responsibility from the opposition because expensive equipment still buys dust.
"The equipment procured for the 112 center includes servers of the work unit's telephone exchange and licensed software," Danilo Miljević from the MUP told TV Vijesti.
The total value of that contract amounts to about 3 million and 226 thousand euros.
The equipment has been deployed in regional units of the MUP in Berane, Nikšić, Bar, Bijelo Polje and Herceg Novi. Nevertheless, he still buys dust today because, as explained by the MUP, there was a lack of space. Meanwhile, the warranty period has expired.

"Given the technological changes that occurred in the previous period, it is important to note that there is a possibility that this equipment will not be put into operation in an adequate way," says Miljević.
Technological changes follow changes in the market, so that equipment like this, which was bought five years ago, costs at least twice as much today, and for the same money you could now get much more advanced equipment.
Member of the parliamentary committee for security Vasilije Lalošević believes that someone should be held responsible for this.
In the tourist season, when we have fires and when we have traffic accidents, it can be assumed that when there is a big crowd and when there is a lot of heat, and during the winter period when we have big floods, only one 112 number works in Montenegro," Vasilije says. Lalošević, member of the Security Committee.
However, the MUP says that installing the equipment would make the job easier and that things are working now.
Proof of that is, as they say, the reaction to the recent accident in Platia.
"From the moment of receiving the information to the activation of all services, not only regional units of the directorate, but all services in the field, seven minutes passed," says Danilo Miljević from the MUP.
This is exactly what Lalošević has objections to, because in similar centers in the region, the system itself does this sort of thing, that is, it redirects the call to the service that needs to respond.
"In Hrvatski, where I had the opportunity to see that center, there are hundreds of phone lines and they are all involved in one phone call, there are no fake calls, no wandering, so - God forbid, if there is an accident, it is directed to the emergency room and to the MUP if there is a fire. to the fire department and other rescue services."
TV report
We tried to get an expert opinion from the company Erikson Nikola Tesla in which country such equipment is located after five years of standing and non-use and how much it costs to put it into operation. In the email, however, they briefly informed us that they cannot provide such information due to the contract.
In the following period, representatives of the MUP and this company will visit the plant and define what needs to be done to put it into operation. The MUP will pay for the new costs from the sale of the gas station in Zagorič.
Otherwise, with the new systematization, operational communication centers will be located, in addition to Podgorica, in two more cities instead of six, namely in Berane and Herceg Novi.
