Podgorica: The facade remains unfinished, tenants in fear

For the second year, due to the collapse of the unfinished facade, the tenants of a building in Podgorica fear for their safety.

The problem arose because the contractor left in the middle of the job. Dejan Radulović learned that numerous attempts by the tenants to find a solution were unsuccessful.

"As soon as there's a storm, the wind is a little stronger, pieces or a set of striropor boards with mortar fall off. And we're in great uncertainty," the manager of the building's entrance, Mato Lozić, told TV Vijesti.

Lozić points out that the trouble with the facade, which is located right next to their entrance, arose when the workers, who were hired by the tenants of the neighboring entrance, gave up on repairing the facade in the middle of the job.

"We should ask the tenants of entrance number 12 why it was not completed and what the reasons are," he says.

No one from the neighboring entrance wanted to stand in front of the cameras, so TV Vijesti, just like the tenants from entrance number 10, remained unanswered. But they still have other problems.

"I can't open the window. Second, because of the scaffolding, when the wind vibrated, the panel broke. Plus, the load on the door, on which the scaffolding rests, is in danger of this canopy on top of the entrance also giving way ", says tenant Gojko Popović.

Even the tenant's appeal to the competent inspections did not yield results.

The manager of the entrance says that they "started driving him" in the Municipal and Housing Inspection.

"They say they are not in charge, they say they are not in charge," says Lozić.

While everyone is running away from responsibility in the Chamber of Crafts, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has recognized the problem. That's why they initiated the adoption of a rulebook according to which only those who have passed the master's exam will be able to engage in crafts.

"This will be, in the future, a great protection for our citizens, because, therefore, we make a contribution to the development of the city, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the citizens will be protected because competent persons will perform their activities", believes Vojislav Delić , president of the Chamber of Crafts of Montenegro.

There is no one to protect the tenants of Zabel, but they are not giving up. They plan to look for a solution to their problems in the office of Mayor Miomir Mugoša.
