Kristina Bačić is not a dreamer, but she feels best among the clouds. She was an excellent student at the high school in Bar and after that she decided to enter the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Her father informed her about the competition for admission to the Air Force Academy in Athens, which was announced by the Ministry of Defense, and she decided to give it a try.
"I took several exams to see if I could pass it, exams that seemed very difficult, especially physical fitness along with a psychological test and knowledge of English. And when I started going to lectures, I received a call from the ministry and they told me that I passed, that I had the best grades. That's when I decided to dedicate myself to this job and I'm glad that it was so". story for TV Vijesti Bačić.
She had her first solo flight four years ago. It was a circle around the airbase 15 kilometers from Athens. The feeling when she climbed into the airplane cabin for the first time exceeded her expectations, but when she took off all fears disappeared. She told us what was the most difficult for her at the beginning.
"The beginning, especially the first and second year, and learning the language was very difficult and a big challenge. And after learning the language, taking exams and following lectures in Greek was the biggest problem in my schooling."
This is an unusual calling for a woman, but Kristina believes that there is no division between men's and women's jobs. She admits that there are those who find her decision to be a pilot strange.
"It is certainly unusual for them that a woman chose a military vocation and therefore a pilot in the aviation of Montenegro. + I think that a woman, like a man, can succeed in any job and that, as in everything, only work is needed".
Kristina will take the oath in July, after which she hopes to start working in the Air Force of the Army of Montenegro. However, her ambitions do not end there. In addition to this, she wishes to complete her master's studies in meteorology.
