The employees of the Clinical Center give their best. And more than that, assures director Zorica Kovačević.
"This is a mine, believe me, if you come in the afternoon or on a Saturday or Sunday, all the operating theaters are occupied. They have reached the threshold of endurance for certain procedures, I just want to tell you that the director of the Surgical Clinic told me at the professional college, "You killed us, what more do you want from us", said KCCG director Zorica Kovačević
The longest waiting lists are at Cardiology.
"There are 369 patients on the regular waiting list for coronary angiography, 90 patients on the emergency waiting list for coronary angiography. There are 82 patients on the regular list for cardiac surgery, and 31 patients on the emergency waiting list," said the director of the Clinic for Heart Diseases, Nebojša Bulatović.
When asked if the departure of cardiac surgeon Aleksandar Nikolić, who operated on twice as many patients as all his colleagues combined, is a problem, the administration suggests that they can do without Nikolić.
"The fact that over 80 patients were operated on during his annual vacation, I think speaks volumes," Kovačević said.
As many as 70 patients passed through the clinics of the Internal Medicine Clinic last year. There are long waiting lists for an examination by a gastroenterologist, with 145 patients waiting, as many as for a colonoscopy.
"The norm was 2400, and 3440 patients were examined, i.e. gastroscopies were performed, as for colonoscopies, the norm was 1920, and 2750 were performed. They do much more than the state expects and than the state pays for, and in addition there are waiting lists", said the director of the Internal Clinic, Sreten Kavarić.
Lack of staff is a big problem, especially in children's hospitals.
"At the Neurological Clinic, we have only one executor, there is one neurologist in the whole of Montenegro. At the Institute for Children's Diseases, we have only one ophthalmologist, who is also on sick leave for several months with an uncertain return time. We are currently in negotiations with Dr. Lidia Perez, an employee of Clinical center of Skopje. The problem with the orthopedic clinic is that there is only one subspecialist in children's orthopedics in Montenegro. We currently have one pediatric allergist in Montenegro," said Sonja Milašinović, director of the Institute for Children's Diseases.
In addition to personnel, equipment is also a problem, and the procurement of an anesthesia machine in a magnetic field and a scanner for the children's hospital is underway.
That there is a long wait, they deny in radiology.
"The wait is a little over a month. There is an unnecessary reputation around our radiological diagnostics that there is a very long wait. About 40 examinations per day on two devices, at this moment this number, the number performed is the maximally used capacities of the devices and personnel," he said. director of the Radiology Clinic, Branimir Vlahović
The director of the Clinical Center announced that she will announce personnel changes at the beginning of April
