Residents of Grblja, Krtola and Luštica discuss the Master Plan of Gasification of Montenegro at the meeting
The inhabitants of Grblje do not have water, even though the regional water supply runs through their settlement. They say that the construction of a large substation that is part of the submarine cable with Italy did not help them either, because they still do not have a regular electricity supply.
That is why they doubt that they will also benefit from the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline that the government is negotiating with Azerbaijan and which is planned to pass through their properties.
That's why they organized themselves with their neighbors from Krtol and Luštica, with whom they share the same pain. They want to find an alternative route for gas flow through Montenegro.
"That this project be declared invalid for us, that another route be found, because we are not against bringing the gas pipeline to Montenegro and Croatia and Europe, we support these activities of the state, but we think that this is a jewel", pointed out Labud Mihović , president of MZ Grbalj.
The master plan for the gasification of Montenegro envisages that gas from Azerbaijan will be delivered to Western Europe partly via our coast. After it "comes out" of the sea in the bay of Trsteno, it is planned that the gas pipeline will pass through Donji Grbalj and Radanovići, to Krtol, via Radovići and Ros, towards Gornji Klinci, and that the gas will be transported by sea to Croatia near Cape Dobreč. As the construction of the gas pipeline involves various technical measures, the residents of these areas fear eviction.
"He has 30 m on one side and 30 m on the other side so that nothing exists. And you saw how difficult it is to get through these inhabited places to demolish everything, and on a diameter of 400 meters under special conditions to build houses or to already existing protection", said Dragan Buzdovan from the NGO "Mračevo polje".
The people of Grbljan propose to the Government an alternative solution: that the construction of the gas pipeline be carried out in parallel with the expansion of the main road outside the populated area or that the gas be delivered by sea.
"The proposed route is to bypass the entire Budva coast and go to the sea, which we also support that idea because Budva is a tourist destination and we agree that it goes by the sea. We think that this area is no worse for the development of tourism than Budva," he said. Mihović.
The current route is also opposed by the Municipality of Tivat, which previously submitted an objection to the drafters of the Spatial Plan to move the gas pipeline route from Krtol. The people of Grbljan are preparing a similar request for the Municipality of Kotor.
The media previously announced that the company Luštica Development is also opposed to the planned route because it is planned that the gas pipeline will pass through its future golf courses.
Ten days ago during the Third Ministerial Meeting of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor in Baku, the Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulić announced that a joint grant had been received for the preparation of the preliminary design of the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline and that these activities would begin during the second quarter of this year.
