Urinary tract infections affect women much more often, and there is an anatomical explanation for this.
Surely at least once in your life you have felt a burning sensation when urinating or heaviness and pressure in your bladder. When these symptoms appear, it is usually a urinary infection. It is a very common problem that occurs when microorganisms that normally live in the urogenital tract and intestines reach the bladder.
More than 90% of all urinary tract infections are caused by the bacteria Escherichia coli, which is naturally found in your intestines.
Urinary tract infections affect women much more often, and there is an anatomical explanation for this. Unwanted bacteria enter the female bladder more easily due to the much shorter urethra. The infection most often occurs in girls who have just started sexual relations and in women in menopause.
Symptoms of a urinary infection are a feeling of pressure in the bladder, burning when urinating, cloudy urine and blood in the urine, fever and pain in the lower abdomen. If you have these symptoms, start treatment as soon as possible, because too much delay can cause bacteria to reach the kidneys and cause more complications.
Baking soda is a real superfood that has alkaline properties, which means that it neutralizes the acidity of urine, thus helping with bacterial infections of the urinary tract.
Add 2,5 teaspoon of baking soda to 1 dl of water and mix well. Drink the whole glass. It is best to drink it first thing in the morning.
Do not use baking soda continuously for more than a week. Its use is not recommended for those who have to watch their salt intake because this food contains a lot of sodium.
