If you are interested in how talented and creative former and current students of the Faculty of Architecture are - see their retrospective exhibition of works in the Modern Gallery in Podgorica. As part of the December art scene, and on the occasion of ten years since the establishment of the faculty, a monograph of this educational institution was presented.

The decade of the Faculty of Architecture's existence was rounded off with an exhibition of the works of its students. Second-year student Filip Radojević is one of them and is happy to be part of the jubilee.

"Let ideas be an inspiration and an obligation to create a dialogue with them"

"During the ten years of existence, as you can see, a lot of high-quality works have accumulated ... In the right way, we are actually trying to promote art and general architecture in Montenegro," says Radojević.

The dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Svetislav Popović, also has good impressions, who points out that the exhibition proves the purpose of establishing the Faculty of Architecture.

"I am extremely pleased that the establishment of the Faculty of Architecture and these results that are present here gave a certain justification and we can proudly say that the faculty as an independent unit has fulfilled its expectations... You feel a certain satisfaction when you see that the graduates of the Faculty of Architecture they are already becoming recognized architects, not only in our country but also in the region and beyond", states the dean with satisfaction.

Assistant at the faculty, Aleksandar Ašanin, believes that the exhibition shows that students work and study seriously, and cultivate a careful and thoughtful approach to space.

"Since these are students, you have very diverse styles of expression from a messy self-centeredness in forms to something we could call quite rational expression, contextual. In any case, I think this exhibition shows that there are many talented children studying at the Faculty of Architecture who are a pleasure to work with".

Future architects are already thinking about the new style of Montenegrin cities. Despite numerous urban failings, students believe that all is not lost, and that our spatial identity can be improved.

"I am deeply convinced that after some time, when things just settle down, such problems will be solved. If what cannot be repaired now, at least new failures will not be made", believes Radojević.

"What Lefebvre, who is one of our architects' favorite philosophers, says is that, in order to make some things realistic, we have to start from utopia, so in that sense, the faculty is perhaps the only place where the imagination can be completely freed, so maybe even utopias are not so impossible", says Ašanin.

The Minister of Culture Janko Ljumović, who opened the exhibition, points out that architecture is an important issue for the future, so these works are more than significant.

"Let ideas be an inspiration and an obligation to create a dialogue with them that will guarantee the creation of exciting spaces, and finally the city itself is a space," says Ljumović.
