The Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU) signed an Agreement on Scientific and Artistic Cooperation with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU).

The agreement was signed by the presidents of CANU Dragan K. Vukčević and SANU Vladimir S. Kostić.

The signing ceremony was attended by Vice President of CANU Đorđe Borozan and members of the Executive Board of SANU: Vice Presidents Zoran Popović and Ljubomir Maksimović, Secretary General Marko Anđelković, President of the SANU Branch in Novi Sad Stevan Pilipovići, President of the SANU Branch in Niš Ninoslav Stojadinović.

The signing was also attended by the Ambassador of Montenegro in Belgrade, Branislav Mićunović.

The agreement was signed in order to continue and improve scientific-technological and artistic cooperation, namely through work on joint research projects, assisting scientific research in libraries, archives and scientific-research institutions, encouraging cooperation between scientific institutions within academies, as well as institutions and organizations which are not part of them.

Cooperation will also be achieved through joint activities - the organization of scientific gatherings, symposiums, conferences, exhibitions, lectures, through the exchange of exhibitions and concert and other artistic activities of members and other prominent artists, the exchange of information and publications and through other activities agreed between the two parties.

Vukčević and Borozan are staying in Belgrade as guests of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, on the occasion of the "National Academy of Sciences and Arts in the 21st Century" symposium.

The symposium brought together the presidents and representatives of several academies of sciences and arts from the region, and Vukčević participated with the announcement "Academy and Society".
